BUDS (British Uni Dryslope Championships)

Despite the fact that some of our race team have competed at International level before, the bulk of our competitive skiers have never raced before joining Brumski, so don’t worry about being out of your depth. Every Wednesday afternoon (2-4pm) we head 10 minutes away from campus to the Ackers dryslope, for training on the slalom poles. Our captains and top racers are always on hand to dispense advice and technique tips, so that the whole team is ready for the competitions.

Competitions:

The year always starts with several inter-uni competitions; the Kings series. The first team has a good record of hanging on to the top spot (although the never-ending war with Loughborough continues), and the 5th teams are renowned for the best and loudest ban ter on the slopes—something we plan on continuing this year.

The season continues with big National events at Edinburgh, Sheffield, London, and the indoor series. Again, all levels of riders are encouraged to compete, or just attend, provide support and have a great day out!

Kings 2007

As every sportsperson knows, teams work best with a little bonding, so after training every Wednesday there’s a social of some kind in aid of team spirit and releasing all that race-inspired energy!
